Everyone wants something from young people: attention, votes, or for them to "behave". At The Youth, we flip the mic. We don’t talk about the youth; we talk with them. We operate where culture, creativity, and technology hit. We don’t follow trends; we make them. Not "safe," but sharp, curious, and hyper-present.

As a Creative Coder at The Youth Agency, you don't see code as a final destination, but as an expression. You understand that digital experiences must say something real. You are the bridge between idea and impact.

What you’ll be doing:

• Build resonance: You develop digital products and experiences that don’t just function; they resonate with the "main track" of youth culture.

• Balance structure & experiment: You switch effortlessly between building solid systems and playing with interaction, motion, and storytelling.

• Collaborative impact: You work alongside designers, strategists, and researchers to turn insights into work that matters socially and culturally.

• Rapid prototyping: You think ahead, prototype fast, and aren't afraid to kill your darlings, always asking: does this feel real?.

• Tangible culture: In our bottom-up approach, you make culture tangible through code, pioneering technology to give the youth the mic.
  

Who you are:

• Code + Craft: You combine strong technical skills with a deep sense of form and aesthetics.

• Tech stack: You build modern frontends, work with Sanity, and are AI-native (Cursor is part of your daily workflow).

• Motion & interaction: You think in timing, movement, and interaction; experience with WebGL is a major plus.

• Cultural fluency: You understand youth culture and its codes without needing them explained.

• Communicative: You are fully proficient in Dutch and English, and you know how to pitch your ideas effectively to both the team and our clients. 

What you get:

• A salary between €2.800 and €3.800 gross (based on 40 hours), depending on experience.

• A base in the heart of Rotterdam, with the flexibility to work from home.

• A small, sharp, and multidisciplinary team where we move as a collective

• 25 vacation days, a pension scheme, and an NS Business Card if you live outside Rotterdam.
